About the Center

Founded in 1991, the African American Cultural Center (AACC) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) supports the academic and diversity missions of the University.  Through innovative programming and initiatives, the Center:

  • Explores African American and African Diasporan traditions
  • Builds campus and community partnerships
  • Serves as a dynamic hub for research, collaboration,  and educational programming
  • Engages and serves the UIC campus and the City of Chicago
