Bobbiette Turner


Influenced by a wide array of artists such as Stringfellow, Bearden, Lawrence, Calder, Miro, Klee, Moore, Matisse, Monet, and Van Gough, Bobbiette Turner enjoys creating thoughtfully, fanciful abstracts. Employing bright colors in a variety of media, Mr. Turner captures modern and post-modern still life, landscapes, and abstracts.

Bobbiette Turner, a self-taught artist and educator, audited art classes at Triton College and American Academy of Art. Her work, exhibited throughout Chicago includes the African American Cultural Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Southside Community Art Center, Lake Meadows, Park Manor and Jackson Boulevard Christian Churches and Illinois Federal Saving.

Awarded grants for the Neighborhood Arts Program by the City of Chicago, Ms. Turner taught children in the creative arts in the Rockwell-Maplewood area. Mr. Turner was also a recipient of a City Arts grant to develop her portfolio. Ms. Turner is currently working on pieces that reflect her career as an educator of diverse learners.
