Reserving the AACC Gallery or Library
As a courtesy to UIC students, on-campus registered student organizations, UIC departments and units, faculty, staff and our community partners, the AACC Library and Gallery are available to be reserved for meetings and other gatherings at no charge. Everyone who uses our space agrees to follow our procedures and guidelines.
Who can reserve the AACC Gallery or Library?
UIC departments, units, faculty, staff, registered student organizations or AACC community partners.
We define community partners as organizations that actively collaborate on projects with the AACC.
Registered student organizations that reserve space in the African-American Cultural Center during the semester agree to actively participate in AACC programs or events before using the space.
How do I Book an AACC Exhibit Tour?
Tour the current exhibits located in our Gallery and Library spaces (check upcoming events for most recent exhibit). Tours are open to groups including UIC classes, high school students, and adult community members. To book a tour at our center, fill out a Space/Tour Request Form. Tours are available during the school semester 10 AM - 2 PM:
- Fall Monday - Friday
- Spring Monday - Friday
- Summer Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
When are the Gallery and Library available?
The Gallery and Library are available Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and after hours 5pm to 8pm. Gallery and library are NOT available for rental on Saturday and Sunday. When not in use for a scheduled event, the library and gallery are open to all members of our campus community and their guests during regular business hours for study, reflection and relaxation. Both spaces are open for extended hours during midterm and exam periods.
How do I submit a request?
Requests can be submitted in person, through our website, or via email. Due to high volume, we require a minimum of 24 hours to process your request.
